In 1957, begun the research on titanium and titanium alloy, and in 1958, the first titanium ingot free of tungsten impurity was smelted successfully.
In January 1958, the Industrial Experiment Institute of Non-ferrous Metals was renamed as the General Institute of Non-ferrous Metals, Ministry of Metallurgy.
From 1958 to 1964, the separation and extraction processes for sixty-four elements in the Elementary Periodic Table have been achieved, which ensured the development of the non-ferrous metals industry in China.
In 1964, fulfilled the trial-manufacturing of sixty-six new precious metal products, and from 1965 to 1967, completed the trial-production of more than one hundred new precious metal products.
In 1979, begun the research of composite contact material with precious metals, and in 1985, a production line of silver-copper composite rivet contact was introduced, which achieved an annual output of ten tons.
In 1983, begun the research of precious metal powder and electronic paste.

In 1983, the chief national leaders, Wan Li, Bo Yibo, etc., inspected the shape memory alloy products on exhibition.
In September, 1992, the Rare and Precious Metal Materials Research Institute was established.
On October 18th of 2000, Grikin Advanced Materials Co. Ltd set up.
In August, 2003, new manufacturing facility in Changping Science Park was brought into use.
On June 1, 2004, attested by Shanghai Gold Exchange and extended the comprehensive membership.
